Introduction

iLab-200R is an automated sample-preparation system with an XYZ arm, pipetting module, contamination control, and software. Optional magnetic, thermal, shaking, PCR, and quantification modules handle different batch sizes and methods.

Deck

Thirty positions give a large, flexible deck that is not limited to SBS plates and can follow the shape of an integrated module.

Automatic head change

Heads use air-displacement pumps. Barrels are a hard, light alloy with a wear coating and can be swapped in the field. Matched tips are QC-checked for seal, residual volume, and leaks.

Multifunction arm

A single XYZ arm positions to 0.1 mm on 96- and 384-well plates and grips, moves, and places plates.

Heating and shaking module

Heating and shaking are combined in one module, so both can run at the same time without taking a second deck position.

Temperature-control module

Temperature range 4–95 °C for high- and low-temperature steps during sample preparation.

PCR module

The PCR module holds tight well-to-well temperature for repeated heat, cool, and amplification in molecular-biology methods.

Quantification module

Quantifies dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA, and protein. Eight samples per read; assay time ≤ 5 s.

Automated purification

Ring or column magnetic racks for 96-well plates make bead capture and elution fast. Methods are tuned for large-volume capture and small-volume elution.

Barcode module

Reads barcodes on 5 mL and 10 mL sample tubes and primary blood-collection tubes for sample tracking.

Graphical interface

The software shows the deck layout while a method runs. Programming is sequential and open; methods can pause and resume after a fault, and parameters can be customized for the application.
