Fully automatic sample preparation system

A compact automated sample-preparation system with a 12-position deck. Interchangeable heads from 1 to 32 channels cover tube-to-tube, tube-to-plate, and plate-to-plate transfers, with HEPA and UV protection.

Introduction

iLab-100R is a compact automated sample-preparation system: an XYZ arm, pipetting module, contamination control, and software. Optional magnetic, thermal, shaking, PCR, quantification, and vacuum-filtration modules cover tube-to-tube, tube-to-plate, and plate-to-plate work on landscape or portrait plate layouts.

Pipetting-head library

The head library switches 1-, 4-, independent-spacing 4-, 8-, 12-, 16-, or 32-channel heads over 0.5–1000 μL.

Deck

Twelve standard positions on a compact deck accept landscape or portrait plates and optional modules.

Heating and shaking module

Heating and shaking are combined in one module, so both can run at the same time without taking a second deck position.

Temperature-control module

Temperature range 4–95 °C for high- and low-temperature steps during sample preparation.

PCR module

The PCR module holds tight well-to-well temperature for repeated heat, cool, and amplification in molecular-biology methods.

Quantification module

Quantifies dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA, and protein. Eight samples per read; assay time ≤ 5 s.

Barcode module

Reads barcodes on 5 mL and 10 mL sample tubes and primary blood-collection tubes for sample tracking.

Vacuum-filtration module

An optional vacuum-filtration module reaches 90 kPa and 20 L/min for automated mass-spectrometry sample preparation.

Control software

A graphical console shows component status, arm position, step, and remaining time. Methods can pause and resume at any point; parameters can be set for the protocol.

Graphical interface

The software shows the deck layout while a method runs. Programming is sequential and open; methods can pause and resume after a fault, and parameters can be customized for the application.
